last night i spent an inordinate amount of time working on a spotify playlist encompassing the alternative/indie/burgeoning emo scene from 1994-96. so many songs ended up coming to mind that i had absolutely forgotten about, this being one of them. i’ve made up for it by listening to it a thousand times today. i consider this the digital equivalent of the dozens of tapes i made off WENZ 107.9 the end during that time. maxell was a true resource for me then.
i’ve been listening to this playlist nonstop.
i consider myself pretty damn lucky because erin sent me a bunch of mixtapes when we were in high school and, as a result, introduced me to so much great music. i still have my favourite mixtape from her - even though i don’t even have a way to listen to it anymore, it means so much to me. this playlist is like the ultimate anthology of all those tapes and i’ve been on a total nostalgia trip listening to it. so many songs that i’d completely forgotten about and they all still sound so good to me.
